through a child's eye - the toyland project
The Toyland Project is a 3 year commission I received in early 2008 to create 8 ft. tall LED light sculptures, depicting the winter holidays from the viewpoint of a child.
Beginning in 2008, 40 sculptures will be created and placed in various locations in Downtown Seattle.
In 2009, 40 additional sculptures will be added to the exhibit.
The exhibit culminates in 2010 with a display of 120 sculptures.
The Toyland Project is just part of an event called the Downtown Light Spectacular.

On Thursday November 13th, 2008 I was featured in a news report about the Toyland Project on Seattle's television channel Fox 13 KCPQ.

On November 23rd, 2008, my crew and I assembled and installed the sculptures from our staging area in Westlake Park.
KIRO 7 News Reporter and Blogger Erin Covey interviewed me that day. Her blog has a number of photos of the staging area.
